Technology alliance promotes digital financial infrastructure
On June 19, 2025, in Hanoi, member units of SSI Securities JSC, including SSI Fund Management Company (SSIAM), SSI Digital Ventures investment platform and SSI Digital Technology Company (SSID), signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tether - the world's largest stablecoin distributor, U2U Network - blockchain platform Layer-1 using DAG architecture, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) - a global cloud computing service provider.
The cooperation agreement revolves around three main components: developing digital asset infrastructure (SSID, SSIAM and Tether), investing in blockchain technology (SSI Digital Ventures and U2U Network), and coordinating the construction of a cloud- decentralized infrastructure model (SSID, U2U and AWS). This is the first time a multilateral alliance of securities companies, investment funds, blockchain enterprises and global cloud computing platforms have signed a cooperation agreement in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Mai Huy Tuan - General Director of SSI Digital Technology Joint Stock Company (SSID) said: Only about a week ago, the National Assembly officially passed the Law on Digital Technology Industry. For the first time, cryptocurrency assets have been recognized as a type of asset in Vietnam. For us, who have owned, developed and invested in these assets over the years, this is an extremely important milestone.
After 8 years of waiting since the Government assigned the Ministry of Justice to study the field of digital assets, now cryptocurrency assets are no longer an vague concept, but have been officially recognized by law. We are very happy that the State's policies are becoming more and more open, not only expressed in the press or general orientation, but have been realized through a system of laws and resolutions, assigning specific tasks to each ministry and branch for implementation.
With an increasingly clear and transparent legal framework, SSI is confident in accompanying major partners such as Tether, AWS and U2U Network to develop digital finance, blockchain and data platforms in Vietnam. Today's signing ceremony is the first step to realize those projects - bringing Vietnamese initiatives, startups and technologies to the world."
Paving the way for digital assets and blockchain practical applications
At the event, Ms. Quynh Le - Director of Asia Pacific Development of Tether - emphasized that Vietnam is at an important turning point when blockchain is recognized as a strategic technology under Decision 1131 and recently the Law on Digital Technology Industry. We want to start here - with SSID, build a transparent, practical digital asset infrastructure platform that brings practical value, she said.
Tether is currently a USDT issuer with a market capitalization of more than 155 billion USD and more than 440 million global users, of which 39 million new users were recorded in the first quarter of 2025 alone. Tether representative said that they will share international experience and provide technical support for SSID to develop digital solutions to serve personal finance, payments, and asset protection.
On the side of AWS Vietnam, Mr. Eric Yeo - General Director of AWS Vietnam - affirmed that this event is a "turning point in Vietnam's digital journey", where centralized and decentralized infrastructure can be combined. AWS will provide cloud computing capabilities to U2U Network, one of the world's three leading Layer-1 DePIN platforms to deploy a hybrid infrastructure model for finance, data and e-government.
For U2U Network, Ms. Trang Phung - CEO and co-founder shared: "We started with very small numbers but with great aspirations. U2U is a customized DAG platform, high-speed processing, designed to help traditional businesses easily access Web3 without having to build infrastructure from scratch. U2U currently has nearly 2 million users, more than 80 d App, and was chosen as an integrated platform by partners such as Staex (Germany) and Nubila Network (USA).
SSIDs investment and support with U2U is considered a recognition of a platform with depth and sustainability, especially in the context of technology policies in Vietnam that are strongly paving the way for innovation models, said Ms. Trang Phung.
