This afternoon, August 8th, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department held a ceremony to announce the deployment of the Artificial Intelligence Application and Tax Information Switchboard through the digital payment platform.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Bac, Head of Data Management and Risk Management Department, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, said that Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department currently manages more than 650,000 business households, 350,000 businesses and 8 million taxpayers.
In the past, there have been many cases of suddenly being temporarily suspended from leaving the country due to tax debt or suddenly becoming a legal representative of a business. In fact, most of it is because when changing addresses, they have not been updated to the tax authority, leading to when the tax authority sends tax debt notices, stops leaving the country... they do not receive them in time. In addition, taxpayers also face the worry of receiving many fraudulent calls impersonating management agencies.

Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department is oriented to build a switchboard with a brand name (brand name) "Thue TP.HCM" to avoid fraud and impersonation. From now on, taxpayers will receive this switchboard call from Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department to urge tax debt collection and notification of exit suspension. The goal of building this switchboard is to help taxpayers quickly receive information from tax authorities, so that they do not have to worry about forgetting their tax obligations. The tax industry will have more solutions to urge and recover tax debts.
Mr. Doan Minh Dung, Chief Tax Officer of Ho Chi Minh City, said that Ho Chi Minh City Tax is a pioneer in the country in bringing artificial intelligence applications and digital payment solutions into tax management practice. The artificial intelligence application switchboard is not simply an additional communication channel but a strategic solution to help transmit tax information accurately, quickly, and promptly in real time. At the same time, the switchboard also supports debt reminders, temporary exit notifications, automatic tax payment urging and protects taxpayers from acts of impersonating tax authorities, impersonating tax officials in cyberspace.
In the initial phase of deployment, the switchboard will make calls and text messages urging tax debts and notifications of exit suspension.
In phase 2, the switchboard will expand the content of calling to urge declaration, tax payment, and tax finalization for people with multiple sources of income....
Phase 3, the switchboard will process incoming calls from taxpayers.
In addition to providing information and utilities on the eTax Mobile platform of the tax industry, Ho Chi Minh City Tax also coordinates with digital payment units including banks and e-wallets to carry out tax notifications through these platforms.
The tax authority also coordinates with units to identify taxpayers, and the switchboard information is recorded and converted from voice to text for the tax authority to collect and process behind the scenes.
In the immediate future, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department will quickly filter out information about tax debt as well as information about temporary exit suspension to notify taxpayers through this switchboard because in many cases, although temporary exit suspension has been granted, taxpayers do not know the information.
In particular, to thoroughly prevent acts of impersonating tax authorities to defraud, virtual assistants will emphasize that tax authorities do not send links via text messages/emails and require people to only pay through official channels such as eTax Mobile, Internet Banking or the National Public Service Portal.
