On June 13, representatives of An Khe - Ka Nak Hydropower Company (Gia Lai) said that the management and operation of the reservoir is currently ensuring harmony between power generation and water supply for the downstream area.
Along with IaLy hydropower plant, An Khe - Ka Nak hydropower plant is a large-scale hydropower plant in the area. Right from the beginning of 2026, water source regulation has been implemented flexibly to maintain flow, serving agricultural production, daily life and people's needs.
In May 2026, although the water flow to the reservoir was low, lower than the same period in previous years, the average water flow to Ka Nak reservoir reached 7.41m3/s. At many times, the water flow to the reservoir was only half of the regulated discharge flow, below 4.0m3/s.
However, An Khe - Ka Nak Hydropower Plant still prioritizes water source regulation with an average discharge flow rate of 6.33m3/s per day, complying with the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Ba River basin, in order to meet the needs of people and agricultural production in the downstream area.
In addition to the task of electricity production, An Khe - Ka Nak Hydropower Company regularly coordinates with local authorities to promote propaganda on using electricity economically and efficiently; and at the same time ensure safety in the reservoir area and hydropower works.
