On June 13, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - Chairman of Son Giang Commune People's Committee said that after the locality and the Department of Finance proposed and suggested, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document agreeing to terminate the Son Quang solar power project in Son Giang commune.
Also according to Mr. Giang, the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee is currently assigning the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant units and localities to fully implement procedures to terminate project operations in accordance with regulations.
The termination of the project is necessary because the investor does not want to implement the project. While people agree and support the project, the Huong Son district government previously also counted and approved the compensation level, but the investor refused to pay compensation," Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang shared.
Regarding the procedure for connecting to the national grid that the project was previously stuck with, according to Mr. Giang, it has been resolved for a long time. However, the investor still does not implement the project.
Son Quang Solar Power Plant project is invested by GA Power Solar Park Huong Son Company Limited.
In early 2019, Huong Son District People's Committee (old) approved a compensation plan after recovering 32ha of agricultural land from 226 households in Ha Son and Bao Trung villages (old Son Quang commune) with a total compensation cost of more than 31 billion VND.
However, the investor is slow to implement compensation, causing farmers whose land is recovered to be upset.
Many times after that, the government urged compensation payments, but the investor still did not implement them.
Realizing that investors are not enthusiastic about implementing the project, in the past time, local people have returned to normal farming with planting corn, beans, sesame seeds... on the land of this suspended project for many years.
