The commission fee in some places is nearly 20%.
From August 3, 2026, TikTok Shop officially applies a new platform commission rate for Mall vendors in Vietnam. Regular vendors not belonging to Malls are not willing to change, because the fee rate for this group has been adjusted from July 3.
According to the fee schedule announced on TikTok Shop Academy, the commission level varies depending on the industry and sub-industry. Not all items have increased fees, but many popular groups recorded higher fees than before.
For example, for fashion, fees for shoes currently range from 16-17.1%, compared to 15-16.1% before August 3. Fees for women's fashion and underwear increased to 16-17.1%; Islamic fashion from 15% to 16-17.1%.
In the health, beauty and personal care groups, the new fee may be up to 19.8%. The health group has a fee of 16-18.8%. Some house and life items are also charged up to 18.1%.
For products in the level 3 industry that are not listed in the detailed fee list, TikTok Shop raises the default commission rate for Mall vendors from 15.5% to 16% from August 3. The default rate for regular vendors is still 14%.
According to TikTok Shop's formula, the platform commission is calculated on the product price after deducting the discount sponsored by the seller, excluding shipping fees and discounts sponsored by the platform.
Orders of 100,000 VND may be deducted nearly 29,000 VND
The commission fee is not the only amount that sellers have to pay to TikTok Shop.
Currently, TikTok Shop's standard transaction fee is 6% for orders created from May 9. This fee is collected from all sellers when the order is completed. In addition, the platform also charges a processing fee of 3,000 VND per successfully delivered order, regardless of how many products there are in the order.
Suppose a Mall booth sells products for 100,000 VND, without discounts and belonging to the group with a default commission rate of 16%. If shipping and other expenses are not included, the seller must bear:
Foundation commission fee: 16,000 VND;
Transaction fee 6%: about 6,000 VND;
Order processing fee: 3,000 VND.
A total of about 25,000 VND, equivalent to 25% of the product value. The seller has about 75,000 VND left before deducting cost of goods sold, advertising, affiliate marketing, shipping or other operating costs.
For orders of 500,000 VND with a default commission rate of 16%, the above three fees are about 113,000 VND. If the order is worth 1 million VND, the amount deducted is about 223,000 VND.
In the case of products belonging to the sub-industry bearing the highest commission at 19.8%, a order worth 100,000 VND can bear about 28,800 VND in commission, transaction fees and application processing fees, equivalent to 28.8% of the product value.
The above calculations do not include affiliate marketing fees for content creators, advertising, shipping costs that sellers have to bear, vouchers sponsored by sellers and other adjustments if any.
Compared to the default fee of 15.5% before August 3rd, the increase to 16% only increased the commission for a 100,000 VND order by 500 VND; a 500,000 VND order increased by 2,500 VND and a 1 million VND order increased by 5,000 VND.
TikTok Shop is also having a support program for some sellers opening stores in the period from January 1st to June 26th. For eligible Mall booths, the support policy is applied from August 3rd to the end of September 30th, 50% reduction in platform commission fees, but the maximum reduction is 3 percentage points for industries with fees from 6% or more.
In addition, some sellers who meet the conditions to use GMV Max may have their transaction fees reduced by 1 percentage point, from the standard level of 6% to 5%.
