According to the report of the Repatriation Team of Martyrs' remains under the Ho Chi Minh City Command, on August 3, forces continued to organize searches at the second location (Zone B) in the Le Thi Rieng Park campus.
This is a hill area that was silted up during the park renovation process, so the volume of soil and rocks to be treated is very large. To speed up the progress of approaching suspicious areas, functional forces mobilized 3 excavators and 1 dump truck, continuously constructing and relocating nearly 300 m3 of soil in the tomb ditch of Area B.
During the day, the task force discovered and collected 14 sets of martyrs' remains in Zone B, of which 4 sets were found along with accompanying artifacts.
Accumulated from the start of the search on June 23 to the end of August 3, the forces have successfully discovered and collected 182 sets of martyrs' remains.
Among these, there are 160 sets of individual martyrs' remains and 22 sets of remains gathered at 4 collective grave locations, including 2 locations in Zone A and 2 locations in Zone B.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Command and specialized units continue to maintain forces, vehicles and machinery to expand the scope of excavation and search, with the goal of searching for and repatriating all the remains of martyrs still lying underground, bringing the heroic martyrs back in gratitude and solemnity.
