Building a factory for green seafood
Taking me to visit the factory located in Tan Hoi Trung commune (Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap, the owner Nguyen Trung Tinh shared: "I built this factory because I was determined to contribute to building a green aquaculture".
In 2013, after graduating with a degree in aquaculture engineering from the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Ho Chi Minh City), Mr. Tinh returned to his hometown to open an aquatic medicine store. After a period of operation, Tinh was surprised by the abuse of antibiotics and chemicals in aquaculture. This not only causes a decline in profits, but also increases many consequences for the environment, pathogens and consumer health... and tightens the "bottleneck" of the seafood industry. This paradox urged the "Red Border" engineer to reduce his determination to dismantle the green solution. Low capital, lacking working conditions... research faces many challenges...
In difficult times, remembering Uncle Ho's teaching: whatever is beneficial to our people, we must do our best, I stood up and continued - Mr. Tinh recalled.
In early 2023, Mr. Tinh officially launched the Antibio X2 solution to replace antibiotics and BiO Gen1 products for environmental treatment in aquaculture. Not stopping there, after establishing Alpha Amin Production - Trading Company Limited, he built a strategy to bring his green products to farmers in an evidence-based way, both of which were beneficial and chose the frog farming profession as a breakthrough.
After connecting with exporting enterprises to package products, Mr. Tinh coordinated with farmers to build a chain of cattle breeding and processed frog in a closed manner. In 2024, this project won the first prize of the "Mekong Initiative 2024" contest (the 2nd Mekong Delta Startup Forum - 2024 organized by Dong Thap province in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in Cao Lanh City).
Almost dropped out of school because there was no money to pay tuition
Research and application gives him dozens of titles. The most prominent is the "typical young face of the pink lotus land 2025", summoned by the Central Youth Union to attend the Advanced Youth Congress to follow the Eighth National Uncle Ho to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth ... With the 9X generation youth, this is a valuable achievement, but more precious in Mr. Tinh, he has started from negative numbers.
In 2012, during his final year of university, Mr. Tinh fell into a deadlock when his family's business failed, and he could no longer support expenses and pay tuition. Not giving up, Mr. Tinh sent an email to the Dong Thap Student Contact Committee in Ho Chi Minh City to present his family situation and was supported with a scholarship of 5 million VND by the Nguyen Sinh Sac Education Promotion Fund (Dong Thap). After paying the tuition fee of 1.2 million VND, he used the remaining money to spend. Graduated with a Good grade, he continued to receive a bonus of 10 million VND from the Fund and then used the tuition to get a TOEIC 590 English certificate, before returning to his hometown to start a business...
With savings, in 2023, Mr. Tinh borrowed additional capital to build a factory worth 5 billion VND on his family's land to proactively produce products in a green direction. In the immediate future, the factory has a capacity of 150 tons of biological products, environmental treatment, and additives/year, enough to supply the aquaculture market in Dong Thap province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general.
