Optimizing resources by applying AI to production
Signing cooperation agreements with corporations from the US and Spain, along with many categories of machinery and equipment, modern production lines, and artificial intelligence applications, Mr. Tran Tuan Dai - Deputy General Director of A My Industrial Joint Stock Company (Vinh Phuc) expects the company to make great strides in supplying products in the domestic and foreign markets.
The sintered stone production line factory started construction in June 2023; the product was launched in March 2024 with a capacity of 2.5 million m2/year, creating jobs for more than 300 workers. This technology has helped save 30% of electricity and heat compared to traditional technology, while expanding the export market from 23 to about 40 countries and territories.
According to Mr. Tran Tuan Dai, businesses must transform digitally and apply artificial intelligence (AI) to improve labor productivity, optimize human resources and time, and help save production costs.
For A My, Mr. Tran Tuan Dai believes that digital transformation and application of artificial intelligence starts with building an ERP system - a standardized technology model, streamlining and integrating business processes in the enterprise; building a smart warehouse and production system; at the same time, the maintenance system, human resource management, paperless electronic office administration, customer relationship management, supply chain... must all be comprehensively digitized.
According to this leader, if businesses want to operate scientifically, digital transformation and applying AI to production are the infrastructure that helps businesses do that.
Businesses benefit from applying artificial intelligence
Mr. Vu Dinh Khiem - Head of the Steering Committee for Digital Transformation of the Northern Power Information Technology Company said that with the development trend of the world, digital transformation is the core of the 4th Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence (AI) is the key technology to implement digital transformation. The national strategy on research, development and application of artificial intelligence to 2030 - sets the goal that by 2025, Vietnam will be in the top 5 countries in the ASEAN region and the top 60 countries in the world in research, development and application of AI.
“It is necessary to promote research and application of AI; focus on research, development, and application of AI on the coze platform, AI generative models in the company's operations, to ensure management and operation of telecommunications and information technology systems serving operations, production and business" - Mr. Khiem said.
In the electricity sector, EVN has implemented a plan to research, develop and apply artificial intelligence in the group's production and business activities. Some units of the group have taken pioneering steps in approaching AI applications in grid management and operation.
For example, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has applied AI image processing to analyze abnormalities in electrical equipment to warn and detect incidents; process and recognize images to check and analyze field images; the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has applied AI image processing to monitor the temperature of primary equipment and cabinets in transformer stations; analyze and detect safety risks in the management and operation of power transmission lines...
Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam - Director of the Vietnam Productivity Institute - said that the deployment of technology helps reduce errors and speed up the process of bringing products to market. Meanwhile, business processes are improved thanks to digital technology, thereby helping to increase productivity and business efficiency.
“The ultimate goal of digital transformation in businesses is survival and future strength, but digital transformation initiatives have brought many other benefits to businesses,” said Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam.
