
This is the first flight route directly connecting Vietnam with Sri Lanka, marking a new step in Vietjet's strategy to expand its international flight network, while contributing to strengthening economic, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Colombo route is expected to open from August 2026 with 4 round-trip flights per week. Through Vietjet's widespread flight network, Colombo will be conveniently connected with many economic, tourism and financial centers in the Asia-Pacific region such as Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and many other countries.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, First Vice Chairman of Vietjet Air, said: "The Ho Chi Minh City - Colombo route not only opens a new aviation connection between the two countries, but also contributes to promoting cooperation corridors in trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchange in South Asia and Asia - Pacific.
Colombo - an important economic and trade center of the Indian Ocean - along with Ho Chi Minh City, the leading dynamic city in Southeast Asia, is expected to create a new bridge for regional growth and cooperation.
