Rapid increase in quantity, revealing inadequacies in management
The planting area code is considered a "passport" to bring agricultural products to the international market. According to the agricultural sector, the whole province currently has 936 codes with more than 33,400 hectares, of which most are for export.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, there are 735 export growing area codes with nearly 27,000 hectares, meeting the conditions to enter markets such as China, the United States, the EU, Korea, and Australia with many key fruits.
In addition, 201 domestic planting area codes with more than 6.4 thousand hectares contribute to ensuring traceability and improving product quality. However, post-coded supervision work still has many limitations and does not meet practical requirements.

According to records, some farmers have not fully implemented the recording of farming diaries, and have not complied with the general production process, leading to uneven product quality, affecting the reputation of agricultural products in the market.
According to functional sectors, the reason is that the management force is still thin, with many concurrent tasks, while the planting area is large, with diverse crops, and different harvest times, so inspection and supervision are difficult.
The consumption linkage between businesses and cooperatives, cooperative groups and growing areas is not close. The management and use of codes still lacks specific regulations, leading to incorrect use, affecting the production value chain.
Tighten management to meet market requirements
Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - Director of Chanh An Agricultural Cooperative said that there is still a situation where units do not have planting area codes but "borrow" or buy them back for export, causing dishonesty in the market.
According to Mr. Trung, productivity pressure makes a part of farmers abuse fertilizers, chemicals and stimulants, leading to the risk of being returned goods or banned from importing from strict markets.
According to the agricultural sector, each market has different regulations on planting area codes and product standards. For example, China requires planting area codes, while the EU, USA, and Australia may require additional organic certification.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Head of the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection said that the unit will strengthen supervision of the use of codes, especially the situation of buying, selling, and using in violation of regulations.

The Sub-Department will support brand building, trade promotion, and apply information technology in dossier management and traceability to meet market requirements," Mr. Binh added.
Mr. Le Van Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized that if we do not quickly organize production according to the correct process and build planting area codes, we ourselves will lose export opportunities.
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will plan suitable growing areas, provide technical training, strengthen periodic inspections, and connect businesses to sign consumption contracts, ensuring stable output for agricultural products.
