From early morning, in the fields of Vu Ban district (Nam Dinh province), farmers have gone out to harvest spring rice.
Many farmers here have assessed that this year's rice crop is good for the harvest and quality. "The spring rice crop has favorable weather, suitable for rice plants to branch and make nests until the rice is blooming and ripe. In addition, there are few rice plants that are destroyed by pests and diseases, so my family's output in this crop is double the previous crop, with about 2.5 quintals/sao (1 sao 360m2)", Ms. Vu Thi Cai (Dai Thang commune, Vu Ban district) excitedly said.

It is known that the total spring crop growing area in Vu Ban district is over 8,100 hectares; of which, about 600 hectares are produced with rice according to the large-scale field model, fields linked to production.
Mr. Tran Dinh Vang - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vu Ban district said that this year, during the growth period, rice has developed well, so the rice plant stump is large, healthy, and has many branches. High rice productivity, rice prices remain stable, so in the past 2-3 years, there has been no abandoned rice fields in the area.
Golden ripe rice is grown in the fields in Vu Ban, Nam Truc, Truc Ninh, Hai Hau districts, ... harvesters are operating at full capacity day and night to harvest rice. Depending on the location and field conditions, the harvest price for each sao of rice is about 150,000 VND.

Sharing the joy, in the fields of Nam Cuong commune (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province), many rice harvesters are operating at full capacity to harvest rice. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan shared: "This season, my family planted 2 hectares, reaching more than 65 quintals/ha. When the rice is harvested, traders buy it at a stable price, buy fresh rice at the beginning of the field for 600,000 - 750,000 VND/kg (depending on the rice variety). Although rice prices are not as high as before, with current prices and productivity, we farmers growing rice in this crop also earn quite a profit".
In addition, the road is convenient, so transportation costs are somewhat reduced, farmers can move their rice home by trailer without having to pay for vehicle rental.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nam Dinh province, the spring rice yield is estimated at nearly 70 quintals/ha, the province strives to basically harvest by June 25.
