According to advice from the Cuong Motor Vehicle Maintenance Center (Dinh Cong ward, Hanoi), lubricants, also known as end-to-end drive oil, have the task of lubricating the gears, bearings and details inside the end-to-end drive of scooters.
During operation, the gears continuously fit and bear loads. Suitable lubricant helps reduce friction, limit wear, support heat dissipation and protect metal parts during operation.
This is one of the items that users easily overlook when maintaining scooters. Compared to engine oil, exhaust oil usually does not need to be replaced with such a high frequency. However, this part still needs to be checked and oil replaced according to the manufacturer's recommendations for each model.
Xe Cưng Motor technicians also note that engine oil should not be used by default to replace oil for the exhaust. Two types of oil have different lubrication requirements and working conditions. Using the wrong type can make lubrication and protection of gears and bearings not meet requirements.
Some signs that may warn the end drive system need to be checked include awnings, unusual whistling sounds in the drive area, the car operating roughly or feeling more sluggish than before. However, these signs may also stem from other technical causes. Therefore, actual inspection is needed to accurately determine the cause before repairing or replacing components.
End gear oil may also be missing due to leakage or water contamination in some operating conditions. When the amount of oil is not enough or the oil has been degraded, lubrication is reduced, causing the gears and bearings to work in greater friction conditions, thereby increasing the risk of abrasion and damage.
According to the technician's advice, some cars can be checked and the end oil can be replaced at a distance of 5,000–6,000 km. However, this is not a common benchmark for all car models. Users should prioritize the cycle specified in the manufacturer's manual or maintenance schedule.
Compared to many other repair items, changing the end drive oil is a relatively simple task. Therefore, car owners should not wait until the powertrain emits a loud revving sound to check, but should include this item in the periodic maintenance schedule.
