Detected 8053 alcohol concentration violations, temporarily detained 9675 motorbikes

During the first four days of Tet holiday (January 25 to January 28), authorities handled 8,053 cases of alcohol concentration violations and temporarily detained 9,675 motorbikes.

Information from the Traffic Police Department said:

On January 25 (26th of Lunar New Year), the Road Traffic Police inspected and handled 8,870 cases of traffic safety violations; paid the State Treasury VND 26 billion 491 million; temporarily detained 40 cars, 2,415 motorbikes, 81 other vehicles, and revoked 649 driving licenses.

Of which, there were 1,909 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 2,222 cases of speed violations; 40 cases of overloading, 6 cases of exceeding the size limit, 94 cases of carrying more people than the prescribed number, and 20 cases of drug violations.

Highway traffic control patrol teams recorded 124 cases, paid the State Treasury 513.9 million VND, revoked driving licenses of 23 cases, and temporarily detained 1 vehicle.

On January 26 (27th of Lunar New Year), the Road Traffic Police force inspected and handled 7,855 cases of traffic safety violations; paid the State Treasury 23 billion 453 million VND; temporarily detained 74 cars, 2,618 motorbikes, 88 other vehicles, and revoked 344 driving licenses.

Of which, there were 2,106 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 1,808 cases of speed violations; 16 cases of overloading, 4 cases of exceeding the size limit, 58 cases of exceeding the prescribed number of people, and 09 cases of drug violations.

Highway patrol teams recorded 82 cases, paid the State Treasury 406.8 million VND, and revoked the driver's license of 1 case.

On January 27 (28th of Lunar New Year), the Road Traffic Police force inspected and handled 7,541 cases of traffic safety violations; paid the State Treasury 19 billion 973 million VND; temporarily detained 47 cars, 2,294 motorbikes, 65 other vehicles, and revoked 428 driving licenses.

Of which, there were 1,842 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 1,743 cases of speed violations; 20 cases of overloading, 9 cases of exceeding the size limit, 71 cases of exceeding the prescribed number of people, and 10 cases of drug violations.

Highway traffic control patrol teams recorded 78 cases, paid the State Treasury 323.3 million VND, and revoked driving licenses in 7 cases.

On January 28 (29th of Lunar New Year), the Road Traffic Police inspected and handled 6,957 cases of traffic safety violations; paid the State Treasury VND 18 billion 630 million; temporarily detained 37 cars, 2,348 motorbikes, 43 other vehicles, and revoked 284 driving licenses.

Of which, there were 1,896 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 1,617 cases of speed violations; 05 cases of overloading, 8 cases of exceeding the size limit, 43 cases of exceeding the prescribed number of people, and 9 cases of drug violations.

Highway traffic control patrol teams recorded 46 cases, paid the State Treasury 268.7 million VND, revoked driving licenses of 3 cases, and temporarily detained 3 vehicles.

One of the notable figures is that traffic accidents have continuously decreased compared to the same period in 2024 during Tet holidays.

On January 25, 2025 (26th of Tet), there were 47 road traffic accidents nationwide, killing 27 people and injuring 31. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 33 fewer accidents, 16 fewer deaths, and 26 fewer injuries.

On January 26 (27th of Lunar New Year), there were 53 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 25 people and injuring 47. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 30 fewer accidents, 18 fewer deaths, and 20 fewer injuries.

On January 27 (28th of Tet), there were 52 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 26 people and injuring 36 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 32 fewer accidents, 12 fewer deaths, and 33 fewer injuries.

On January 28 (29th of Tet), there were 50 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 17 people and injuring 48. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 35 fewer accidents, 23 fewer deaths, and 29 fewer injuries.
