In recent days, many drivers traveling on National Highway 28B (also known as Dai Ninh Pass) through Binh Thuan province said that many sections of this road are in poor condition and very difficult to travel, especially on days with prolonged rain.
This route is also being upgraded and expanded, and many construction teams are currently working on many sections. Some areas have fences on one side of the road for construction. Some areas have excavators digging up the ground, forcing vehicles in both directions to avoid each other.
According to records, many sections have mud on the road surface, causing it to be slippery. Notably, in the afternoon, there are days when thick fog appears, affecting the driver's visibility when going downhill. Meanwhile, Dai Ninh Pass has many curved bends and many steep downhill locations.
Drivers tell each other that if you want to go from Binh Thuan to Lam Dong, you should take Highway 28 up to Gia Bac Pass, it will be easier to travel than Highway 28B.
Mr. Tran Thanh Cong - a resident living on Dai Ninh Pass - said that many sections of the road are quite bad due to weather conditions, so vehicles need to pay attention to drive slowly when going through curved bends and areas with potholes and mud on the road.
Regarding the situation of encountering dense fog when going downhill, Mr. Nguyen Que Chau - a tourist service driver who often travels on this mountain pass - shared that when driving in foggy weather conditions, drivers should turn on the fog lights, drive slowly, maintain speed, keep a safe distance and avoid following too closely to the vehicle in front. Pay attention to the road markings to align the vehicle, do not encroach on the lane.
At the same time, drivers should not let the temperature inside the car get too high, turn on the air conditioner with outside air intake mode and turn on the car window defroster mode.
