Ms. Pham Thanh Ha (26 years old, Lao Cai) accompanied her mother and daughter on a Northwest mountain climbing trip. That journey not only connected family members, but also opened up a slow, persistent and inspiring way of experiencing nature.
First Conquest Journey
In recent years, trekking is no longer an activity exclusively for adventurous people, but has gradually become a natural experience choice for those who want to seek relaxation and comfort after stressful working days.
After only about a year of getting acquainted with the trekking routes in the Northeast - Northwest mountains and forests, whenever she has time, Ms. Ha often goes mountain climbing 2-3 trips per month to satisfy her mind.
For her, trekking is not simply conquering heights or challenging physical strength, but also a journey to enjoy the natural scenery, breathe fresh air and regain balance between daily life.
The first trekking trip was when I went to explore Hang Te Cho waterfall. It was a rather difficult backpacking route, so I switched to walking 5km in and found this journey really interesting. From then on, I started to switch to trekking passion," the female tourist expressed.
Hang Te Cho Waterfall is located in De Cho village of the H'Mong people, belonging to Lao Cai province (formerly Yen Bai province), bordering Son La province. With an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level, this place is considered one of the most majestic and dangerous waterfalls in the Northwest, carrying a mysterious, pristine beauty, hidden deep in the mountains and vast primeval forests.
Ms. Ha said: "I have conquered 5 peaks, of which Ta Chi Nhu and Phu Sa Phin are places I have climbed to for the third time. In fact, the peaks I have climbed are almost all rated as not difficult to go.
But for me personally, the more beautiful the scenery, the more determined I am to climb back to enjoy nature and breathe fresh air on the mountain. Of course, once you climb the mountain, it is inevitable that your physical strength will be eroded, but when you reach the top, you can admire the scenery, you no longer feel tired but only have joy left.

Memorable milestones
One of the most memorable milestones in Ha's trekking journey is the Phu Sa Phin trekking trip with her mother and daughter. This is also the first time her mother has participated in a true trekking course.
After each trip, I often show off photos that I have taken to family members, especially my mother, to see and admire Vietnamese nature. Everyone in the house really likes and wants to experience it once. It's really fun because on this journey to conquer Phu Sa Phin, I have my mother and 3-year-old daughter accompanying my passion," she frankly confided.
Ms. Ha's mother has a habit of exercising daily, so her endurance is quite good. However, Ms. Ha still carefully chooses a mountain peak with an easy climb path, suitable for first-time climbers like her mother.
Owning an altitude of about 2,865m above sea level, Phu Sa Phin range (also known as Ta Xua) is the end of the Hoang Lien Son range stretching from Lai Chau down to Lung Lo pass and is the natural border mountain between Lao Cai (old Yen Bai) and Son La provinces.
To conquer Phu Sa Phin peak, visitors can choose one of two routes, starting from the foot of the mountain in Xim Vang commune or going from Hang Chu village, Hang Chu commune. Ms. Ha chooses the climbing route from Hang Chu and returning to Tram Tau trail (belonging to old Yen Bai).
If climbing in this direction, the distance is only about 4km and visitors can completely conquer Phu Sa Phin peak on the first day. The remaining climbing direction is quite difficult, the "dinosaur back" section 3km long is quite dangerous, not suitable for first-time climbers.
Ms. Ha shared: "After this trip, my mother really liked it and even expressed that she wanted to conquer other routes. When she got home, she didn't have leg pain or fatigue.
As for my little daughter, the road is about 10km long, she climbed 3km up and 3km down on her own. In other sections, adults support her so that she can eat and sleep enough. From a young age, she was raised to be independent, went to the sea to swim and sunbathe from the age of 2 and was guided to walk long distances.
