Recreating labor with meaningful vacations
Mr. Nguyen Huy Sang - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Yamaha Motor Vietnam Spare Parts Production Co., Ltd. (Thang Long Industrial Park, Hanoi) said that from June 30 to July 2, the company organized vacations for about 1,200 union members and workers.
To create conditions for a large number of workers to participate while still ensuring production activities, the Trade Union Executive Committee has advised and coordinated with businesses to build up to 11 domestic and international tours. Workers can choose many destinations such as Cua Lo (Nghe An), Sam Son (Thanh Hoa), Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Hanoi or international tours to Yunnan, Guangxi (China).
Not only diverse in choice, the trade union also advises businesses to support 2 million VND/person, and at the same time deduct an additional 500,000 VND/person from trade union funds to reduce the cost burden for union members.
In addition, the trade union coordinates with departments and divisions to arrange reasonable vacation schedules before and after the trip so that workers have time to rest and recover their health before returning to work. The company also arranges buses to transport 100% of participants from home to gathering points and vice versa after the holiday ends, helping workers feel secure in participating in the program.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Sang, vacations are not simply welfare activities but also an opportunity for workers to regenerate labor after many months of continuous work, preparing positive spirit and energy for the next production stage.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam has been attached to Yamaha Motor Vietnam Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for 20 years, and his wife has also worked at the enterprise for 18 years. The couple participated in a 3-day 3-night trip to Yunnan (China) jointly organized by the company and the trade union.
His group consists of 4 cars with about 35 people per car. After being supported with expenses by businesses and trade unions, each member only needs to pay an additional VND 1.4 million to have a complete trip.
According to Mr. Tam, every year the company organizes a vacation program on a voluntary basis, creating conditions for employees to choose a suitable destination. For him, this is not only an opportunity to rest and regenerate labor after a stressful working time, but also an opportunity for colleagues to connect and share with each other more outside the factory environment.

After each trip, I feel more comfortable, have more energy to return to work. What I appreciate most is the concern of the company and the trade union for employees. It is these practical care regimes that have added motivation for me and my wife to be assured to stick with the company for nearly two decades," Mr. Tam shared.
Connecting collectives, building sustainable welfare
Not only meaningful for resorts, tourism programs organized by trade unions also become a bridge connecting collectives, building corporate culture and retaining workers.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hanoi) said that the 2026 tourism program was implemented from the end of April and divided into many phases so that about 1,300 workers have the opportunity to participate without affecting the factory's production activities. In 2026, the company plans to organize 23 tourism trips for about 5,000 people including family members, costing about 6 billion VND.
Right from the beginning of the year, the Trade Union Executive Committee proactively coordinated with the personnel department to survey the aspirations of employees regarding the time, location and form of organization. On that basis, the trade union advised on building a budget plan and persuaded the Board of Directors to approve a 100% funding support package for all officials and employees.
In parallel with that is the selection of reputable travel agencies, fully preparing logistics, insurance, and medical plans to ensure safety for workers throughout the journey.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, the greatest value of trips lies in helping workers truly rest after a stressful working time, while creating opportunities for departments to interact, participate in collective activities, eliminate distance in the working environment and strengthen coordination after returning to the factory.
When workers feel the practical care and concern of businesses and trade unions, they will have more trust, be attached for a long time and be ready to accompany businesses," Mr. Hai shared.
At Impulse Fashion Thien An Phuc Textile Investment Joint Stock Company (Hue City), the trade union also coordinated with the Board of Directors to organize the 2026 summer picnic program at Hai Duong beach (Hue) for all officials and employees.
The program is divided into 3 phases with many teambuilding activities, collective games and art exchange nights, creating a relaxing space, strengthening the spirit of solidarity between union members and workers.
Reality at many businesses shows that vacations are increasingly going beyond the meaning of a simple welfare activity. With the companionship and advice of the Trade Union organization, this has become a practical solution to care for spiritual life, regenerate labor, strengthen cohesion in the collective and build a sustainable welfare foundation, contributing to retaining workers and promoting the long-term development of businesses.
