From that foundation, Mr. Tran Anh Minh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation - shared his views on development orientations, goals to maintain position and build a sustainable future for Vietnamese futsal.
Vietnamese women's futsal is continuing the success of men's futsal in previous years, what do you think about this?
- I feel very happy and happy because women's futsal has reaped the fruits after a very long period of sowing seeds. This is not something lucky to have, but it is a difficult journey and a trade-off of many things. I believe that this is just the beginning of a new chapter, and women's futsal will continue to go further in the near future.
At SEA Games 33, the image of the Vietnamese women's futsal team celebrating in a circle pushing emotions brought great spread, is this the message of Vietnamese football?
- That is a very beautiful image showing the solidarity of the whole team. Solidarity is also the strength of Vietnamese women's futsal, and we want to spread this image not only to Vietnamese football but also to other sports of Vietnam.
Vietnamese women's futsal has its own characteristics, with the appearance of many players from the 11th floor, what advantages and difficulties does this bring?
- In fact, the Vietnamese women's futsal team faces many difficulties in terms of player force because the National Championship has few participating teams and mainly teams use 11-a-side players to play.
When the 11-a-side football players gathered for the Futsal Team, they had to re-practice some skills, as well as change tactical thinking to adapt with the remaining players, because the situations in futsal are very fast and continuous, this is the most difficult thing for the Women's Futsal Team.
However, there are also some advantages that 11-man football players bring to the team, which are their ability to collide and compete for the ball more strongly, and some long ball and high ball situations they handle better than purely futsal players.

Having both the Southeast Asian championship and the SEA Games Gold Medal, what are your next goals and those of futsal managers? Is it time to think about the World Cup dream for women's futsal yet?
- The goal in the coming years for women's futsal is to maintain their position in the region in a stable and sustainable way. The leading position in the region previously belonged to Thailand for many years.
Achieving the above championships is very difficult, but keeping them firmly and for a long time is even more difficult, because then the opponents in the region will all focus on Vietnamese women's futsal and the pressure is really great for the coaching staff as well as the players and those who do futsal.
In fact, women's futsal is quite close to the ticket to the World Cup held for the first time in the Philippines in 2025 when we lost to Japan. Therefore, the possibility of participating in the women's futsal World Cup in the coming years, in my opinion, is not impossible for us.

With men's futsal, although they have not achieved the expected results in the past year, what fans see is a generation of young players continuing and growing up. What are the goals of men's futsal in the coming years?
- With men's futsal, the level of competition is much fiercer when teams in the region and continent are investing heavily and developing very quickly. Vietnamese men's futsal is currently in a transitional period, young players have contributed more to the national team and have also had impressive performances, but international competition experience is still lacking.
The goal in the coming years for men's futsal is to try to accumulate a lot of experience through tournaments in the region and continent to win a ticket to participate in the 2028 Futsal World Cup, when the current generation of young players aged 20-21 has matured.
In the coming time, how will Vietnamese futsal be invested in to complete the next major goals?
- In the near future, in addition to foreign training trips to countries with developed futsal backgrounds, we are also planning to build a successor force to participate in youth tournaments in the region such as the U16 and U19 generations in a systematic and systematic way to provide the National Team with quality players in the long term.
