Coach Federico Rampazzo is the first Italian volleyball expert to take on the role of head coach for a national volleyball team of Vietnamese sports.
Exchanging immediately upon arriving in Vietnam after the victory in the second leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026 Tournament in Indonesia, the expert confided: "I am very grateful to my family for supporting me to come to Vietnam to work. In addition, I would also like to thank the predecessor coach of the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team for building such a great squad. Of course, everyone must thank the players because they have made efforts to win in the second leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026. The Vietnamese team has progressed through each match. Players not only show what they have been trained in but also directly adjust directly in each match of the tournament. In the final, we prepared for all possible scenarios against the Thai team. And, we succeeded. Victory often does not bring much to the players. The loss in the first leg helped the coaching staff draw many lessons for the Vietnamese players. Personally, I think the defeat in the first leg is a stepping stone to help players return to confidence to win in Indonesia”.
Competition inspiration
Few people know that in the information in the job application submitted to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, expert Federico Rampazzo did not start as a volleyball player. He graduated with a degree in applied electronics and biomedical engineering from Padua University in Italy. However, this expert has practiced, learned about volleyball expertise and participated in coaching many youth, amateur and semi-professional teams in his hometown. In his profile, expert Federico Rampazzo began to focus on professional volleyball coaching from 2004. In addition, expert Federico Rampazzo has a level 4 coaching degree in Italy. With a lot of experience working in Italy, Russia, Taiwan (China)... expert Federico Rampazzo began to ignite the fire to help Vietnamese male players play excitedly at this time.
For me, the most important thing is the spirit of the players on the field. They must never lose their spirit. Volleyball competition also requires communication between teammates, so all players must always be a unified whole," the Italian expert once said during the training of the Vietnamese Men's Volleyball Team before participating in the two legs of the SEA V.Cup 2026.
Expert Federico Rampazzo is easygoing, sociable and receptive to expertise. But in that easygoing, there are also high requirements that players must maintain concentration, not be satisfied with what they have but must exceed the threshold.
Therefore, 19 players trained by coach Federico Rampazzo at the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team now have a common feeling that the Italian coach brings the most positive energy to help them liberate all professional abilities.

At all times in the matches, expert Federico Rampazzo always stands close to the boundary, showing the most energy to adjust and encourage the whole team. Before officially becoming the head coach of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team, expert Federico Rampazzo actively came to Vietnam to attend the first round of the 2026 National Club Championship in Dong Anh (Hanoi). Coach Federico Rampazzo was born on March 6, 1974 in Padua (Italy). He used to play as an assistant coach for the Esse-ti Carilo Loreto Team (Serie A2, Italy) in the 2008 - 2009 season. This team won the championship and was promoted. The immediate contract of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team with expert Federico Rampazzo is until the end of 2026. In the following year, the extension will continue according to regulations.
