Vo Duy Khanh wrote "Wishing to Love at Fault" to tell the story of young people who have gone astray in the past, are vague about the future, but have never stopped. The young people of Vo Duy Khanh are still walking, and we will also walk, be resilient, confident, and move forward.
The short story collection "Wishing to Love at Fault" by Vo Duy Khanh consists of 8 stories, he wrote topics that seemed unrelated to each other but seemed to have invisible connecting threads. Young people are wandering on the path of life, lives flowing without much impression, young thinking, actions that overcome all barriers of themselves and their families seem to be inherently linked in each story.
Vo Duy Khanh wrote with many perspectives and emotions, readers can feel that everything is normal, an obvious thing in life that everyone has experienced to some extent, but deep inside is what young people often meet, often see and experience most, is the urgent loneliness, the desire to understand themselves, always looking for a way to live for themselves.
"Wishing to love mistakes" is also a story of mistakes, family affection, friendship in innocent youth, love affairs, and all of that always motivates us to move forward. I thought I would just introduce myself like that" - the author shared.
Not only talking about love between couples, the author also talks about family affection, deprivation, and loss in life. Book for young people, and those who have passed their youth, to see themselves in it, or to feel a little bit of the flavor of life.
The short story collection is inspired by " misunderstandings", changes and broken relationships, happiness and warmth. "Wishing to love" is a "bet" on belief in love. Live with all your heart, listen to yourself, love your family. And who knows, a " miscommunication" will lead us to true happiness?
When talking about the inspiration for writing the book, Vu Duy Khanh said: "Wishing to love" is actually a story inspired by real memories, about the last days I was with my grandmother. Every holiday, people gather together, sit back and look back at the photos in the family album, as a long-term habit. That album was covered in dust and jackfruit with fading color photos, the smell of plastic in the air. She often recounted stories about her mother, passed away aunt, and the members of the album that her children and grandchildren were close to. Every time she told it, the story was always attractive and captivating.
When she moved, the photo album was lost, and she was no longer clear enough to remember old things, those who had passed away and those who were still there. At that time, I decided to make a new album, which was Want to Love at Fault, inspired by her story, but also added new photos, marking the years of maturity of the young people, to dedicate to her.
I think young people often get involved in wrong decisions, even though they know that. Both mother, mother, and aunt were young people, and who among us has no mistakes? But the important thing is to always know the direction ahead, constantly walking and not being able to turn back. When writing Wishing to Love at Fault, in addition to wanting to recreate the lost photo album, about young people who have made mistakes, I myself also want to preserve the materials of my childhood, and I believe that that is also the youth of many others.
