Political music, revolutionary tradition explode strongly
Which fate brought you the idea to make the MV "Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam"?
- First of all, I must thank the April 30 holiday for its strong influence in responding to political music and revolutionary traditions. This is a great motivation, a great encouragement for artists who have been pursuing the music industry for over 20 years and "for the benefit of the listeners" like me to feel the need to do something right now - right now. From there, the project idea "Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam" was born.
When "complaining" the song with 9X young musician Doan Minh Quan, I hope to address everyone, especially the young. Therefore, the song has incorporated many "viral" phrases that young people often talk about on social networks such as: Life is very peaceful, if I had a future, I would still wish to be Vietnamese...
What is the main message that you want to convey through this MV?
- The song "Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam" takes the opening words of the mother as the patriotism that has been passed down from many generations, so that the children can grow up and fight, without having to work hard. The MV took the image of a mother willing to sacrifice her husband and children for the greater meaning through the song "mother loves child - loves country - loves yourself" to prove the Vietnamese people's great patriotism, the indomitable and resilient spirit of fighting against the enemy. Thereby affirming that in this life, I am satisfied, proud to be Vietnamese and hope that in the future, I will once again live in the hearts of the heroic nation.
The song is like a journey from the past to the future. Imbued with the ideal of a modern Vietnamese people in the rising century, the song "the book cannot be eroded but we look forward to the future" is like an affirmation: Respect the past - Look forward to the future, which our whole country is in the same direction.
How did domestic and foreign audiences respond after the MV was released? What moved you the most?
- Unlike the previous time doing a pure entertainment music project like the MV "Vi met em" filmed in India, this time it is a political song so it needs more time to spread. The reception and response of the audience, especially the young audience, was very strong. The media crew has tried to apply many different "tricks" to approach this special audience group, such as transformation trends, dance challenges on the background music, karaoke with Vo Ha Tram... And from North to South, young people have participated in dancing and checking in at famous locations in their localities; young audiences also sing along with "Ms. Tram"; then audiences in Australia and Europe also wear national flags to respond to the song. What an unexpected effect for a political song like this.
The song was just released in early August, but now I can still hear people whispering about the lyrics wherever they go, and I also promise that this opening ceremony will use the song to perform art again. It is true that what comes from the heart will easily spread and touch each other's hearts, right?
A brilliant career
After many years of working in the arts, how do you feel about the current stage in your career? What has changed in the direction of music?
- " sublimation" are the two words I can think of at this time. This is like an achievement, a gift for the tireless, uncompromising efforts of a singer who spent her entire youth for nearly 20 years expressing her love for the "complaining" political music genre. We must pay great respect and gratitude to recent game shows such as "Anh trai vu ngan chong gai" or TV music shows that have tactfully brought political songs with fresh arrangements to young audiences. Since then, my appearance at the April 30 festival or the release of the MV "Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam" has been a "wave" and has followed the wave of spreading patriotic music to all the people of Vietnam.
Vo Ha Tram's musical orientation over the past 20 years has not changed today and tomorrow. This journey has been guided by my beloved teacher - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam - whom I always cherish and cherish step by step on this path.
The audience knows Vo Ha Tram not only as a singer but also as a passionate artist with traditional values. What makes you always choose to stick with music with national sound?
- For me, an eternal love must start with rubbing, intuition, contact. Luckily, on my career, I have been able to go to the border of islands, historical sites, hear stories, see historical stories and traces to be able to fuel my love for the Fatherland in me. And then that love was spread most naturally through the emotions included in each song.
I married to an Indian man, my two children were born and raised in Vietnam, learning and speaking Vietnamese every day. What I feel happy about is that my child can enjoy the cultural values of Vietnam right in her mother's hometown, and when she grows up, she can go far away to study the culture of her father's hometown. And what I do now, I hope to contribute to spreading traditional values to the next and next generations, which are the "ads" like my children, so that they can still know and remember their roots as the way their mothers have enjoyed from previous generations.
As a mother, a wife and an artist, how do you balance your family and career?
- I am a family woman, I always cherish family values, connecting members together. I always keep a balanced balance between work and family. I still remember when I had just finished the MV "Vi met em" which was spread in a terrible way, my manager tried to convince me to postpone the plan to have a second child to do a few more projects. But I definitely didn't. I have spent two years on music, now I need two full years on my family, my husband and children. Some colleagues often tease me why I keep playing around with " Vo Ha Tram ve" so much! I laughed, I said it was right, every two or three years of music, then two or three years of being husband and wife, I keep taking turns.
Dedicating myself to music to make projects, but every day I still care for my husband and children like a traditional Vietnamese mother. I always want to spend as much time as possible taking care of, teaching my children, or talking and living with my husband. That precious time helps me connect more with my family as well as act as a "charging station" to fuel myself to continue living with music.
Can you share a message for young people pursuing an artistic path, especially those who always want to preserve Vietnamese identity in creativity?
- With the culture and traditions of the nation, we should do the right thing before doing the right thing. Singing a revolutionary song with the right lyrics andutes is already a way to preserve it, then discuss the arrangement or creative approach. We today have many tools and resources to support creativity, so doing the right thing will make us create and come up with better products.
Every success requires a process. We cannot shorten one or more stages in that process to "go short".For those young people who are pursuing a path like me, please persevere and persevere, practice and practice, every day and every day so that this will be your professional luggage, so that you can create more value, longer on this special musical path.
