According to the Lviv authorities' confirmation on August 30, Mr. Parubiy was shot many times and died before the doctor could be present.
The attackers were said to be wearing shipper clothes, helmets and carrying a delivery bag.
The witness said that he approached and fired 8 consecutive shots, then put the gun in his bag, calmly leaving the scene on an electric bicycle.
Investigation agencies are actively searching for the suspect. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it a horrific assassination and affirmed that all necessary forces and means are being mobilized to find the perpetrator.
Mr. Andrey Parubiy (54 years old) is co-founder of the far-right Party of Ukraine - Ethnicity, the predecessor of the Svoboda Party and once led an arms trafficking organization called "Children of Ukraine".
In the 2014 Maidan critica, Mr. Parubiy played the role of commanding far-right protest groups in Kiev's central square. He then held the position of Secretary of the Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for nearly a year.
From 2016 to 2019, Mr. Parubiy held the position of Chairman of the Ukrainian National Assembly, before becoming a representative of the European Solidarity Party of former President Pyotr Poroshenko.
However, his political career has been associated with many scandals. Mr. Parubiy was accused of being involved in the fire at the Odessa Trade Union House in May 2014, which killed dozens of protests against Maidan.
Currently, Ukrainian police and security agencies are still blocking the scene and collecting evidence. No group has yet taken responsibility for this daring murder.
