Date 10.8, National Health Sector Trade Union organized the final round of the Health Sector Trade Union's Staff, Civil Servant, Public Employee, and Laborer Sports Festival in Dong Thap Province. Attending the event were Mrs. Huynh Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Province Labor Federation; Mr. Phan Van E, Deputy Director of the Dong Thap Province Health Department.
Eight teams, comprising over 250 athletes who are staff, civil servants, public employees, and laborers from the health sector in four trade union bases, participated in the final round. The athletes competed in three disciplines: men's 5-a-side football, women's beach volleyball, and badminton (men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles). These athletes were selected from the qualifying round after two days of competition (July 13 and 14, 2024).
The sports festival provided an opportunity for staff, civil servants, public employees, and laborers in the health sector to interact, maintain, and promote the physical exercise and sports movement, actively improve their physical fitness, and enhance the quality of healthcare and protect the people's health.
According to the organizers, 39 awards were presented to the teams, with the men's 5-a-side football team from the Sa Dec General Hospital Trade Union Base winning first prize; the women's beach volleyball team from the Thanh Binh District Health Center Trade Union Base winning first prize; the mixed doubles badminton team from the Cao Lanh City Health Center Trade Union Base winning first prize; Mr. Nguyen Minh Thien from the Thap Muoi District Health Center Trade Union Base winning first prize in men's singles; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ly from the Sa Dec General Hospital Trade Union Base winning first prize in women's singles.
