On October 29, the Le Thanh Nghi Ward Trade Union (Hai Phong City) held its 1st Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term. Attending were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, and 180 official delegates representing 8,033 union members of 75 grassroots unions.
The Congress listened to the report of the Ward Union Executive Committee on the situation of workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD) and union activities since their establishment; discussed and contributed opinions on the goals, tasks, and solutions of union work for the 2025 - 2030 term. The Congress also heard the City Labor Federation announce the Decision to appoint the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee and the positions of the Ward Trade Union for the new term.
In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Le Thanh Nghi Ward Trade Union sets many key targets: developing 300 - 500 new union members each year, establishing 2 - 4 grassroots unions in the non-state sector; striving for at least 80% of enterprises with grassroots unions to organize negotiations and sign collective labor agreements (CLAs), in which each year an increase of 5 - 10% of CLAs reaching type B or higher.

Three breakthroughs during the term were identified including: developing union members, especially in FDI enterprises and the non-state sector; training and fostering union officials with courage, good skills, legal knowledge and strongly developing union member welfare programs, strengthening labor policy supervision, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation acknowledged the efforts of the Ward Union Executive Committee in the past time to quickly stabilize the organization, solidarity, and effectively implement the assigned tasks.
Mr. Tuan suggested that in the coming term, the Ward Trade Union continue to innovate and be creative in its activities; promote digital transformation, attract union members, and promote its role in protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers.
At the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan was elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Le Thanh Nghi Ward Trade Union for the 2025 - 2030 term.
