On December 25, Mr. Than Trong Toan, Chairman of the Lac Duong District Labor Federation, said that the unit had just handed over the "Union Shelter" house to 3 union members.
“These are union members and workers in difficult circumstances who are having to rent houses... Their wish is to have their own house to settle down and make a living” - Mr. Than Trong Toan shared.
According to the Chairman of the Lac Duong District Labor Federation, every year the unit surveys and grasps the number of union members and workers who have difficulty with housing. This is the basis for the unit to mobilize resources to support and help them build houses.
In 2024, the unit mobilized social resources to help 3 union members and workers build houses with a support amount of 50 million VND/house.
Mr. Ro and Mr. Ha Pol, from the Lat Commune Labor Union, said: "The dream of my husband and I has now come true. Being the owner of a house of more than 50 square meters is something my family never dared to think of before."
Mr. Ha Pol shared that he is a part-time cadre in the commune. In addition to working hours, he and his wife diligently work in the fields, but their income is not significant. All daily living expenses and medicine when sick have been spent almost, leaving the family with no savings.
Thanks to the support of 50 million VND from the union, the couple decided to borrow more from relatives to build the house. The total construction cost was more than 100 million VND. This included contributions from neighbors and supporting union members.
“My husband and I are very grateful to the union for their concern and support. Without this help, we would not have dared to think about building a house,” Mr. Ro Ong Ha Pol said emotionally.
Similarly, teacher Ko Sa K’Jip, a member of the Da Nghit Kindergarten Union, said: “My family’s old house has been dilapidated for a long time but we have not had the means to repair it. Thank you to the District Labor Federation and the union members for your help. With a new house, my family feels more secure to continue doing good work.”
