On August 4, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation said that in July 2026, trade union levels in the area newly established 33 grassroots trade unions, admitted nearly 1,000 union members and introduced 251 outstanding union members for the Party to consider, nurture, and admit.
This result contributed to raising the total number in the first 7 months of the year to 4,444 newly admitted union members, 52 grassroots trade unions were established and 499 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party.
The number of full-time union members increased to 1,436 people, equivalent to 89.75% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
To date, the whole province has 580 grassroots trade unions with 42,812 union members, continuing to affirm the stable development of the trade union organization in the context of implementing the two-level local government model.
According to the Provincial Labor Federation, developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions continues to be identified as key tasks.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation has directed commune and ward trade unions and Trade Union Boards of industrial parks to strengthen the review of enterprises that meet the conditions for establishing trade unions.
At the same time, coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and employers to propagate and mobilize workers to join the organization.

Trade union officials regularly stick to grassroots levels, directly meet with businesses and workers to propagate the role and functions of trade union organizations, and answer questions related to the rights, interests and responsibilities of parties when establishing grassroots trade unions.
In July, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks (facility 2) and the Trade Union of Au Lau ward were units with outstanding results in union member development.
In addition to mobilizing the establishment of new grassroots trade unions, the units also guided the consolidation of the executive committee and developed operating regulations to organize them early and put them into order.
In parallel with expanding the organization, trade union levels continue to improve the quality of grassroots trade union activities in a practical and effective direction.
Many newly established units have quickly deployed activities to care for union members, propagate policies, organize dialogues at workplaces and launch emulation movements for good labor and creative labor.
In the coming time, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation will continue to innovate mobilization methods, promote union member development, and establish grassroots trade unions at eligible enterprises.
At the same time, improve the quality of operations after establishment, care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, contributing to completing the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
