Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the northern provinces were severely affected by storms and floods in the provinces. Landslides and flash floods occurred continuously, rising floodwaters caused many families to be trapped and isolated in the flood area for many days.
In that situation, on September 12 and 13, at the headquarters of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor, 3 trucks carrying 40 tons of necessities departed to the provinces of Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang to support people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi.
A representative of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor said that with the motto "the strong help the weak", the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has called on all levels of trade unions, union members and local workers to support the northern mountainous provinces. The main necessities supported are rice, non-prescription drugs, medical equipment, clothes, blankets, water, utensils, etc.
In addition to activities to donate essential daily necessities to union members, workers and people in disaster-hit areas, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor requested that the Federation of Labor of districts, cities, and industry unions coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the same level to propagate and mobilize union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to uphold the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love" and actively participate in supporting, sharing material and spiritual help with people facing difficulties due to the impact of storms and floods.
