On November 24, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor announced that it had just provided support for 3 wells to provide domestic water for ethnic minorities in Tang Ky village (Lam Thuy commune, Le Thuy district) worth 75 million VND.
Tang Ky village has 69 households, with 280 people (including 27 poor households, 9 near-poor households). Due to lack of arable land, life mainly depends on forests and agriculture, but every time there is a flood, the land is eroded, making travel difficult due to the separation of water streams.
People's lives still face many difficulties and shortages in many aspects, especially water resources. People here mainly rely on natural water sources from streams, which are not only unsanitary but also in short supply during the dry season.
The Provincial Federation of Labor has allocated funds to support 3 well drilling projects (worth 75 million VND) to help people solve difficulties in meeting their domestic water needs. After more than 1 month of implementation, the project has been completed and put into use.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Labor Federation shared about the difficulties and shortages of the people here, encouraging people to try to improve production conditions to make their lives more and more stable.
Ms. Lan suggested that people take responsibility for preserving and using the wells properly so that the project can be used for a long time.
