Attending the conference were Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hiep Thuong - Vice Principal of Trade Union University; and students of the theory and practice class on trade union work - K278 for officials of the Central Federation of Lao Trade Unions.
At the conference, representatives of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor briefly reported on the situation of trade union activities in the locality, the results achieved and experiences during the operation. From 2022 to July 2024, trade unions at all levels in the province have allocated operating funds and mobilized agencies, units and enterprises to visit and give gifts to more than 1.4 million union members and workers, with a total amount of more than 989 billion VND on the occasion of Lunar New Year, "Workers' Month", "Occupational Safety and Hygiene Month" and support union members and workers in difficult circumstances with serious illnesses...
In addition, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor has considered supporting the renovation and repair of 413 "Union Shelters" for union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 15 billion VND; organized the signing of cooperation agreements with 399 partners with the content of providing products and services with good quality and preferential prices for union members and workers. Thereby, helping more than 174,000 union members and workers to enjoy, with a preferential amount of more than 25 billion VND.
Through activities to care for union members and workers, the position of the trade union organization is raised, worthy of being the center of gathering and uniting workers in the area; enhancing the sharing and connection between the trade union organization and the enterprise, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the enterprise.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Manh Son - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Confederation of Labor welcomed the delegation of the Trade Union University to visit and work in Thanh Hoa province.
According to the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, through the conference, the two sides exchanged many contents and valuable lessons in trade union activities such as: developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; taking care of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and emulation and reward work... At the same time, the working delegation learned more about the situation of trade union activities at the grassroots level, thereby having more practical documents at the grassroots level, to serve research and teaching at the school.
In addition, the conference also further tightened the cooperative relationship between Thanh Hoa Trade Union and the Trade Union University. The Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation also hoped that in the coming time, the Trade Union University would continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions to support the training, fostering, and improving the capacity and qualifications of trade union officials at all levels in Thanh Hoa, in order to better perform the tasks of the trade union organization in the new situation.
