On January 16, the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor and the Vinh Phuc Confederation of Labor organized an exchange of experiences in trade union activities and signed a work coordination program for the period 2025 - 2028 under the chairmanship of Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor and Ms. Trinh Thi Thoa - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Confederation of Labor.
With the characteristics of Quang Minh Industrial Park, Me Linh District, Hanoi, bordering Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province; Thang Long III Industrial Park, Hanoi, located in Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province. Therefore, workers of the two provinces and cities are intertwined in terms of work location and residence.
In these areas, there is currently no centralized housing for workers. Quang Minh Industrial Park, Me Linh District alone has about 3,500 migrant workers, so workers are currently residing in affordable housing and boarding houses.
Workers are mainly unskilled workers, working in private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises, living conditions are still difficult, average income is about 7 million VND/month, while living expenses are high. To make ends meet, workers have to work overtime or wait to receive subsidies and support at certain times.
One of the activities that has been well implemented in recent times is that the Labor Federations of the two provinces and cities have done a good job of ensuring worker security in industrial and export processing zones and neighboring areas.
In which, it is necessary to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization for union members, workers and civil servants to set an example in implementing the Party's Directives and Resolutions; the State's legal policies; the Resolutions of the trade union organization; the internal rules and regulations of enterprises and the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring security and order and the movement of the whole people to protect national security, building an industrial working style, living and working according to the Constitution and the law, and building a cultural enterprise.
Coordinate with the police force to each enterprise and worker dormitory to disseminate skills and knowledge on crime prevention, social evils, crime reporting, fire prevention, traffic safety, especially the negative impact of "black credit" activities, contributing to education, raising awareness of self-prevention, maintaining security and order, helping workers to be vigilant against all types of crime, not to be drawn in or entangled in social evils...
Discussing experiences in ensuring worker security in industrial and export processing zones and neighboring areas, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union affirmed that it is necessary to do a good job of orienting public opinion among workers; 365 enterprises with trade unions are classified as green, yellow, and red according to the level of good labor relations.
Ms. Bang Hai Ninh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Industrial and Export Processing Zones of Vinh Phuc province shared her experience on the need for good coordination between the Trade Union and the police, including coordination to establish grassroots trade unions.
One of the coordination contents between the two units in the period of 2025 - 2028 is to coordinate in grasping the ideological situation, life, and work of union members and workers; coordinate in resolving cases causing insecurity, social order and safety in border areas.
