Recently, the Dong Da District Labor Federation (DLF) organized the launching of the Workers' Cultural Activity Point at Hanel Plastic Foam Joint Stock Company.
The company currently has 330 employees, including 230 direct employees. For many consecutive years, the company's Trade Union has been awarded certificates of merit by the District and City Labor Federations for its outstanding achievements in Trade Union activities and active participation in activities launched by the District and City Labor Federations.
However, due to the nature of the industry, production in the auxiliary production chain, requiring timely and accurate production; the company's location is far away, so there are still limitations in the conditions for organizing Union activities. Faced with that reality and to contribute to further improving the spiritual life of workers, the Executive Committee of the Union of Hanel Plastic Foam Joint Stock Company requests the Dong Da District Labor Federation and the Hanoi City Labor Federation to pay attention and create conditions to support funding to equip some equipment for the common room.
Based on the needs of workers and on the basis of reality and the proposal of Dong Da District Labor Federation, the City Labor Federation decided to support 90 million VND to build a Cultural Activity Center for Workers for Hanel Plastic Foam Joint Stock Company.
It is worth mentioning that the implementation of the grassroots Trade Union has created conditions for workers to participate in the process of building the Workers' Cultural Activity Point. The Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union held an internal meeting, solicited opinions from all union members; built and came up with ideas for the Workers' Cultural Activity Point to both meet general requirements and create a unique mark of the enterprise.
Union members and workers themselves came up with ideas for the arrangement, decoration and completion of the facilities for the Workers' Cultural Activity Center. Among them, the Union Bookcase received many contributions.
At the Workers' Cultural Activity Point, there are more than 50 books on knowledge related to Union management, general specialized knowledge, and books on common life. About 45% of the books are directly donated by Union members.
When the Workers' Cultural Activity Point came into operation, Ms. Luc Thi Huyen - a worker of the company - shared her joy because there was a place for them to gather, exchange cultural and artistic ideas, read books, and improve their legal knowledge. The happiest thing was that the Cultural Activity Point had the contributions of the company's own workers.
