After more than 1 month of exciting and thrilling competition, the 2024 Thanh Hoa Southern Football Championship East Asia Cup officially ended with the final match between Hau Loc FC and Thanh Hoa City on the afternoon of December 29 in Ho Chi Minh City.
As the defending champion, Hau Loc FC is rated higher than its opponent and this was demonstrated by the fact that they were the team that took the lead in the final match thanks to Van Dung.
Despite being behind, Thanh Hoa City persisted with a tight defense and quick counterattacks. In the last minute of extra time in the first half, former U23 Vietnam player Le Van Dai launched a sharp attack, allowing teammate Cong Hieu to seize the opportunity to score a goal to level the score at 1-1.
In the second half, Hau Loc FC continued to score to take the lead 2-1 thanks to Hoang Anh. Thanh Hoa City's subsequent efforts were not enough to help them equalize the score, thereby accepting a 1-2 defeat in the final match. With this victory, Hau Loc FC officially defended their championship title.
In addition to the championship, Hau Loc also won 2 individual titles for Van Dung (Best Player) and Quy Cong (Best Goalkeeper). The title of Top Scorer belonged to striker Hoang Long of Trieu Son.
In the veteran's playground, Thanh Hoa City's Veterans team defeated Veteran Trieu Son with a score of 1-0 in the final match to win the championship.
