On the evening of April 18, at the Provincial Library (Cao Lanh City), the People's Committee of Dong Thap province opened the 4th Dong Thap Book and Reading Culture Day event - 2025.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Hoai Thu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap Province - emphasized: "Dong Thap - Lotus Lot Hong is one of the lands for those who are rich and studious, is a locality with 2 of the 5 cities of the country recognized by UNESCO" The city of learning ". According to Ms. Thu, this is not only an event that inherits the good spirit that many countries in the world maintain and constantly develop... but also a practical activity to celebrate major events of the country and locality, such as: 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Dong Thap Province...
"Hopefully, this event will connect people to continue to care about and share good books to serve the community. Thereby, promoting the movement to actively respond to and spread the love of books and reading culture, contributing significantly to building a culture and people of Dong Thap that are affectionate, dynamic and creative - Ms. Thu emphasized.
With the theme "Reading - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity" Dong Thap province has built the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day program - 2025 with a series of events and practical activities, such as: art programs to celebrate Book Day; contest "book exhibition space - arranging art books"; organizing thematic talks on Book Day and Reading Culture; exchanging authors, introducing works; exhibition activities, displaying Red-crowned Cranes, children's paintings... All aimed at many extremely important goals: marking a new step forward in encouraging and spreading reading culture to everyone, especially for the younger generation.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also announced a congratulatory letter and a book donation program to the Dong Thap Provincial Library by Mr. Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.
Responding to that spirit, at the opening ceremony, many companies and units have accompanied and sponsored 22 "Learning Promotion Bookshelves" with a total value of 220 million VND to give to localities in the province.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented gifts and honored 18 individuals who won the Final Round awards at the Reading Culture Ambassador Contests from 2019 to present organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
