The exhibition takes place from April 22 to May 25, 2026, at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center - Hoan Kiem - Hanoi. In the space of Hanoi's Old Quarter, the "May Lotus" exhibition brings a gentle but deep approach when choosing lotus flowers as the axis throughout.
Lotus is not only a familiar flower in Vietnamese life and culture, lotus is also placed in relation to the image of President Ho Chi Minh - a symbol of simplicity, nobility and perseverance.
The event is organized by the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and towards the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
This is also the time when lotus flowers begin to enter the season, contributing to creating a natural interaction between life and art space.

The exhibition gathers many contemporary artists with different creative styles. From realistic paintings that evoke a sense of closeness, to abstract works rich in suggestiveness, lotus images are exploited with creative artistic qualities.

The material used is also a noteworthy point. Silk, oil paint, lacquer or watercolor are all used, creating a variety of surfaces and emotions. Minimalist shapes or rhythmic strokes contribute to highlighting the modernity in the view of a traditional symbol.
Head of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board Ngo Thi Thuy Duong said that the exhibition gathers the participation of many contemporary artists such as: Thuy Huong, Nguyen Thi Thu, Ta Thi Thanh Tam, Le Huong, Hoa Khong, Vuong Manh Lan, Dao Van Tuan...

Lotus of May" does not place much emphasis on performance or strong visuals, but aims for contemplation. Through the image of lotus flowers, the exhibition evokes sustainable values in Vietnamese culture.
