On March 22, Can Tho City Police said that the Fire and Rescue Police Department, City Police, has just coordinated with Can Tho Tourism College to organize a program to propagate, experience, and practice fire fighting and rescue in 2026 for lecturers and students of the school.

According to Can Tho City Police, in the context of increasing urban development, high-rise buildings and concentrated residential areas are being built more and more, the risk of fire and explosion is still always latent with many unpredictable factors. Notably, many cases show that, besides objective causes, the lack of knowledge and skills to handle situations and escape when a fire occurs is one of the factors that increases the consequences.
At the program, teachers and students were equipped with basic knowledge of law in fire prevention and fighting; identifying the main causes of fires and explosions; initial handling skills when incidents occur; and were guided on appropriate escape plans for each type such as housing, dormitories, high-rise buildings, and crowded places.

The propaganda content is conveyed visually, easily understood, associated with real-life situations, helping lecturers and students of the school raise awareness and proactively prevent.
The highlight of the program is practical experience activities, creating conditions for students to directly access and use fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue vehicles and equipment.

Specifically, students were guided and practiced escaping from heights with slow-cutting ropes; experiencing moving and escaping from environments with a lot of smoke and toxic gases; practicing using portable fire extinguishers to extinguish simulated fires; getting acquainted with the use of breathing equipment, gas masks; visiting and experiencing 32m ladder trucks and many specialized vehicles and equipment serving fire fighting and rescue.

Through these activities, students not only consolidate their theoretical knowledge but also practice practical skills, reflexes and handle situations when fire and explosion incidents occur. This is an important factor contributing to minimizing damage if unfortunately a fire occurs, while forming a sense of proactive self-protection and support for those around them.

In addition to equipping skills, the program also contributes to spreading the spirit of responsibility in fire prevention and fighting, gradually building a movement for the whole people to participate in fire prevention and fighting in the school environment. Through this, each student is not only protected but also becomes an active "prophyunist" in the community.
