Education faces the requirement of comprehensive innovation
On April 16, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province coordinated with Can Tho University to organize a workshop "Creating education in the digital age to improve the quality of education and training in Ca Mau".
Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Vice Rector of Can Tho University - said that the 4.0 industrial revolution is having a profound impact on all areas of life, in which education and training are the fields directly affected but are also an important driving force for development.

According to Mr. Hai, the major policies of the Party, the resolutions of the Central Government on education innovation, science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation have set an urgent requirement to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate the education system towards modernity and integration.
For Ca Mau, improving the quality of education is of particular importance in developing human resources, creating breakthroughs for the local socio-economy and successfully implementing the goals of the Provincial Party Congress Resolution.

Can Tho University is committed to continuing to accompany Ca Mau in training, fostering human resources, scientific research and technology transfer.
Many breakthrough solutions are proposed
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Anh Huy - Rector of the Teacher Training School, Can Tho University - said that Ca Mau education still faces many structural problems such as shortages and imbalances in the teaching staff; disparities in teaching conditions between regions; pressure of digital transformation in schools.
According to Mr. Huy, Ca Mau education is facing a "turning point", has a foundation but has not created a breakthrough. Therefore, the province needs to comprehensively restructure the education system towards modernity, flexibility, balance and adaptation to the digital age.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tien - Vice Rector of the School of Science, Can Tho University - said that STEM education in the digital age is a continuous innovation journey. If effectively implemented, Ca Mau will form a team of human resources with strategic thinking, good technological skills and practical capacity.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing many groups of solutions such as developing digital capacity in educational institutions; improving English proficiency to become the second language in schools; promoting STEM/STEAM education; developing scientific research, innovation; continuously training human resources.
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan assessed that the workshop recorded many profound opinions, suggesting new directions for education in the province in the coming period.
According to Mr. Luan, the shared contents will be an important basis for the province to continue to improve the project to improve the quality of education and training, and at the same time concretize it into programs, tasks and solutions suitable to reality, creating clear and sustainable changes for local education.
