The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) plans to pilot the new Preschool Education program from the 2026-2027 school year.

On March 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the conclusion of the Deputy Director of the Department - Ms. Le Thuy My Chau at the workshop on piloting the new preschool education program, expected to be applied from the 2026-2027 school year.

The Department of Education and Training assigned the Department of Preschool Education to advise on building a specific pilot plan, ensuring the principle of "clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear time, clear results". At the same time, this unit will organize training, issue professional guidelines and strengthen inspection and supervision, ensuring conditions for implementation at facilities.

Local authorities are required to closely coordinate with the education sector in mobilizing children to attend classes, and at the same time support preschool facilities with facilities and resources to effectively implement the pilot program.

For pedagogical schools, the Department of Education and Training proposes to strengthen research, professional advice and adjust teacher training programs to suit the requirements of innovation; promote training and educational scientific research.

Preschool education institutions participating in the pilot program need to proactively prepare staff, facilities, and develop plans suitable to actual conditions. Activities to nurture, care for and educate children will be organized in the direction of developing qualities and abilities, enhancing experience, and putting children at the center.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training emphasized the requirement to innovate management thinking in the direction of supporting teachers, reducing administrative pressure; strengthen communication to create consensus between families, schools and society in the process of implementing the new program.
