On April 15, 2026, the National Innovation Center (NIC), Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the Queensland Trade and Investment Promotion Agency - TIQ (Australia) organized the "Education for Innovation Showcase" event.
The event was attended by about 80 delegates from management agencies, universities, businesses, and large research organizations in the fields of agricultural technology, healthcare and tourism in Queensland, along with many universities, research institutes and large businesses in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Do Tien Thinh, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC) said that we are living in a period of rapid change, driven by digitalization and emerging technologies. In this context, education and research are not only supporting factors, but also a key driving force for innovation and sustainable growth.
We consider Australia a reliable and strategic partner in the field of education and innovation. In particular, Queensland has outstanding strengths in research and education models linked to industry, with leading universities with strengths in fields such as medicine, agriculture, biomedical science, robotics and environmental science. At the same time, Vietnam possesses a young, dynamic labor force with great growth potential. By combining these complementary strengths, we believe that the two sides can build a solid foundation for meaningful and long-term cooperation in the coming years," said Mr. Do Tien Thinh.
According to Mr. Do Viet Thinh, the event focuses on three priority areas: Agricultural technology, Medical technology and Tourism. Mr. Thinh emphasized that these are not only important areas for economic growth, but also associated with quality of life, sustainability and future competitiveness. These are also areas with many opportunities for cooperation in training, applied research, technology transfer and human resource development. More importantly, these are areas where innovation can directly create value for society.
For Vietnam, innovation, digital transformation and the development of high-quality human resources are top national priorities. In that context, international cooperation plays an essential role. We appreciate the opportunity to work with universities, organizations and industry representatives of Queensland, as well as together find ways for the strengths of the two sides to complement each other for the common good," Mr. Thinh emphasized.
Mr. Thinh hopes that today's event will spark new cooperation between universities, businesses and organizations, and at the same time bring specific results in education, research and linking with the industry.

Representatives of Queensland also shared that Queensland's education and research system has strengths in linking training, research and the practical needs of businesses, especially in the fields of agricultural technology, medical technology and tourism. Through this program, Queensland's educational institutions want to expand their network of partners in Vietnam, while bringing diverse learning, research and career development opportunities for Vietnamese students and workers.
Within the framework of the program, delegates participated in presentations and in-depth discussions on the education system of Queensland as well as the development orientation of human resources and digital transformation of Vietnam. At the program, business matching activities also took place, creating conditions for educational organizations, businesses and partners from both sides to seek specific cooperation opportunities in training, research and human resource development.
