In Yen Bai and Thai Nguyen, agricultural cooperatives were severely damaged by the storm, floods and landslides submerged rice fields, peach blossoms, and crops that were about to be harvested, causing hundreds of households and workers to lose their livelihoods. Silkworm houses collapsed, machinery was damaged, hundreds of silkworms died or were swept away. Mulberry trees - the main source of raw materials - were buried under mud. The entire vegetable area was submerged in floodwaters, factories and machinery were severely damaged. Estimated damage was tens of billions of VND.
Based on the survey results of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment (INOSTE), the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance in collaboration with the Yen Bai Provincial Cooperative Alliance and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Cooperative Alliance have developed and implemented a meaningful labor support program to help people quickly restore production and livelihoods.

Since early December 2024, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Y Can commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province, and the headquarters of Tan Huong Service Cooperative, Cam Gia ward, Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province, the support plan has been organized with the participation of representatives of relevant parties.
The next step of the program is to provide cash and labor tools to cooperatives. The support packages were handed over to members of the Minh Tien Mulberry Cooperative and Tuy Loc Safe Vegetable Cooperative in Yen Bai province. Cooperative members received VND550 million in wages and 40 wheelbarrows, 50 shovels, and 70 sets of protective gear. In addition, members of the Tan Huong Service Cooperative in Thai Nguyen province also received VND350 million in wages, 35 wheelbarrows, 50 shovels, and 60 sets of protective gear. These practical support activities have contributed to helping people restore damaged farmland and work more safely and effectively.
The results of the support program have been a great encouragement to the cooperative members. The distribution of tools, training in occupational safety skills and financial provision have helped people gradually stabilize their lives. Many people shared that the timely support not only eased their financial burden but also brought them hope to continue production and development.
