On May 17, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that in the past time, Tram Tau Commune Police have proactively coordinated with the Team to strengthen the cleanup of the area for drugs, local Party committees, authorities and people to implement many solutions to prevent and combat drug evils.
Functional forces focus on promoting legal propaganda, raising people's awareness about the harms of drugs; strengthening the review and management of subjects at risk of violations. At the same time, mobilize people to actively participate in denouncing crimes and acts related to drugs.
During the process of managing the area, the police force discovered a case of an elderly woman addicted to drugs. Due to difficult circumstances and limited awareness, this woman fell into drug addiction, seriously affecting her health and life.
With a spirit of responsibility and humanity, on May 14, 2026, Tram Tau Commune Police coordinated to mobilize and support bringing the woman to the Lao Cai Provincial Rehabilitation Center No. 1 for rehabilitation in accordance with the law.

At the detoxification facility, the woman underwent an initial health check, medical care and ensured appropriate living conditions to stabilize her physical condition.
In addition, staff at the grassroots level regularly provide psychological counseling and encouragement so that addicts can gradually overcome inferiority complexes, give up drugs and have more motivation to reintegrate into the community.
According to Lao Cai Provincial Police, supporting addicts to go to drug rehabilitation not only contributes to preventing the emergence of crimes and maintaining security and order, but also demonstrates humanity in drug prevention and control work.
Thereby, helping wrongdoers have the opportunity to correct mistakes, stabilize their lives and avoid relapse.
In the coming time, Tram Tau Commune Police will continue to coordinate with functional forces to promote propaganda, review and manage the area; mobilize people to raise awareness of law compliance, not to store and use illegal drugs and actively denounce violations related to drugs.
The Police force also called on the community to pay attention, encourage, and help people after detoxification reintegrate into society, and join hands to build a safe and healthy living environment without drugs.
