Green Hanoi – Amsterdam (GHA) is the largest environmental and social club of Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, established in 2009. This club has been and is continuing to develop strongly, not only in the field of environmental protection but also in meaningful social activities. GHA is widely known for its outstanding events and programs such as Green Life, Warm Tet, Code of Culture and Camp Blast, attracting the large participation of students throughout Hanoi city.
One of the outstanding activities of GHA is the Green Life program, an annual event with the message of environmental protection. Every year, Green Life attracts thousands of participants with practical activities such as environmental seminars and paper-for-gift exchange programs. In particular, in 2026, Green Life brought a meaningful theme – "The Solar Trail", to emphasize the impact of climate change and environmental protection solutions.
The club not only focuses on raising community awareness about environmental protection, but also organizes many charity programs such as Warm Tet, in which club members and volunteers have wrapped and given hundreds of banh chung to people in difficult circumstances.
Paper Exchange Day is an important part of Green Life, especially attracting the attention of the student community and people in Hanoi. This event is not just simply collecting scrap paper and old batteries, but also an educational campaign on reducing consumer waste. By exchanging scrap paper and old batteries for attractive gifts, the program encourages people to participate in recycling and environmental protection.
In 2026, Paper Swap Day continues to take place at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted on January 9th, where people can convert scrap paper and old batteries to games, score points and receive gifts. This form not only helps reduce waste but also creates a fun and educational environment for participants. The gifts received are also valuable in proportion to the amount of paper and batteries each person collects, creating motivation for the community to actively participate in environmental protection.
Green Hanoi – Amsterdam, through activities such as Green Life and Paper Exchange Day, has constantly developed and spread the message of environmental protection to the community. With tireless efforts, GHA has been and is making an important contribution to raising awareness about nature protection, while encouraging positive actions by each individual in building a green, clean, and beautiful Hanoi. Activities such as Paper Exchange Day are typical examples of creativity and effectiveness in combining environmental protection with community activities.
