On August 8, Vinh Long General Hospital organized a program to examine patients, distribute medicine and give gifts to 200 people and workers in difficult circumstances in Trung Thanh commune, Vinh Long province.
At the program, people were examined, consulted on health, given medicine and received practical gifts from doctors and nurses. The activity not only contributes to taking care of health but is also an opportunity for the hospital to share with those in difficult circumstances in life.
Among the people who came for examination, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thao, born in 1979, worked as a freelancer, receiving garments for processing at home. Without land, with unstable income, she had to struggle to raise two young children.
Garment outsourcing is the main source of income but depends on the quantity of goods. Ms. Thao said that when there is little work, the family is short of money. Therefore, being able to have medical examinations, dispense medicine, and receive gifts is practical support.
My family does not have land, life is still very deprived. Today, being examined, given medicine and gifts by doctors, I am very happy because everyone cares and shares," Ms. Thao said.

Also coming to the program quite early, Mr. Le Van Thanh, 78 years old, still has to make a living by selling lottery tickets. Old age, family circumstances are still very deprived, he sees this job as a source of income to cover daily life.
After being examined, receiving medicine and gifts, Mr. Thanh quickly returned to work. He said that making a living at an old age is not easy, but today's concern warms his heart, adding motivation to continue selling lottery tickets.
I am also old but still have to sell lottery tickets to earn a living. Today I was examined by doctors, given medicine and gifts, very happy. After receiving them, I went to continue selling to take care of my life," Mr. Thanh said.
MSc.BSCKII Nguyen Thanh Truyen - Director of Vinh Long General Hospital - said that every year the hospital develops a plan of 2-3 times to organize medical examinations, dispense medicine and give gifts to people in difficult circumstances in the province. Each implementation phase has a budget of about 80 million VND.
According to Mr. Truyen, this program is organized in Trung Thanh commune to help people in difficult circumstances receive health care, and at the same time receive practical support. What the hospital recognizes through each program is the joy and excitement of people when they are cared for and examined by doctors and nurses.
Feeling the joy of the people is the motivation for us to continue implementing community-oriented programs. In the coming time, the hospital will continue to provide medical examinations, medicine distribution and gifts to people and workers in difficult circumstances in many other localities," MSc.BSCKII Nguyen Thanh Truyen shared.
Not only bringing practical gifts, the activity also contributes to taking care of people's health, especially those in difficult circumstances. Sharing from the team of doctors and nurses helps people have more faith and motivation to overcome difficulties and rise up in life.
