Leaving the pressure to shine is a turning point for modern youth

Many young people are gradually moving away from the pressure to shine, no longer chasing after flashy success standards.

Young people choose to live fully instead of being radiant

For a long time, brilliance with prominence, high income or fame was once a measure of success for young people.

However, more and more people realize that external glory does not mean inner peace, thereby choosing to return to core values and seek a fulfilling life in their own way.

Mr. Tran Xuan Trung - MC, teacher and young speaker - once went through a period of constant effort to prove himself.

At times, I feel like I have to always appear radiant in front of others, from work to personal image. However, the pressure to maintain that image makes me tired and gradually lose connection with myself" - Mr. Trung shared.

At one point, Mr. Trung still received praise from others but no longer felt happy. That was when Mr. Trung knew he needed to return to his inner self.

At that time, I realized that I was living according to external expectations more than internal desires. I stopped and had to find a solution" - Mr. Trung said.

After a period of looking back, Mr. Trung began to change his way of life. Mr. Trung spends more time understanding himself, choosing a job that suits his personal values instead of just chasing after fame.

Similarly, Ms. Thuy Linh (22 years old) - a final year student in Hanoi - was also caught up in the vortex of comparing herself to others. However, after a period of facing pressure, Thuy Linh realized that each person has their own journey.

I started focusing on studying, developing skills and taking care of mental health. When I no longer compare, I feel much lighter" - Ms. Thuy Linh shared.

Nurturing intrinsic values is a positive step

According to psychologist Mai Ngoc Quyen - NHC Vietnam Center for Human Development and Psychology, returning to nurturing intrinsic values is a positive change for young people in the current context of a high social pressure.

First of all, it is important to identify your strengths and core values. Recognizing and accepting yourself is the foundation to help each person understand who they are and what they have. When understanding themselves, young people will be less influenced by external standards," expert Ngoc Quyen shared.

Besides, after identifying themselves, each person needs to proactively upgrade themselves.

Feelings of dissatisfaction with oneself should not be seen as negative. On the contrary, if viewed correctly, it can be a driving force for development. Pressure or expectations of success, when understood in a positive direction, will become a source of energy to help young people move forward instead of becoming a barrier," the expert said.

In a world with increasingly many standards and comparisons, young people choosing to return to intrinsic values is not a sign of stagnation, but a necessary step for sustainable development.
