Ho Chi Minh City - Regarding the increase in fares by some passenger car businesses, the Department of Construction said it will monitor the declaration and listing of prices to ensure compliance with regulations.

On March 10, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that it had received notices of ticket price adjustments from 8 transport businesses, applied on about 50 inter-provincial routes.

The increase ranges from 5% to 36%, depending on the travel distance and type of vehicle.

Sao Vang Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. adjusted to increase by about 13% on 2 routes Vung Tau, Long Dat - An Suong.

Phu Thai Son Transport and Trade Service Co., Ltd. also increased ticket prices for the Vung Tau - An Suong route by 13%.

Toan Thang Co., Ltd. adjusted prices on 19 routes with an increase of 17% to 36%, including the routes Mien Dong New Bus Station - Xuyen Moc and Mien Tay Bus Station - Ba Ria.

Dong Hung Transport Service Trading Co., Ltd. increased by 5% on the Phan Rang, Phan Ri - Ho Chi Minh City routes.

Dong Bac Transport and Tourism Cooperative increased by 5% on Tuy Phong, Phan Ri - Ho Chi Minh City routes.

Saigon Public Transport Co., Ltd. increased from 17% to 20% on the new Mien Dong Bus Station - Mui Ne route.

Tien Oanh Transport Tourism Co., Ltd. increased from 13% to 18% on 10 routes, such as Nga Tu Ga - Buon Ma Thuot and Mien Dong Moi Bus Station - Da Lat.

Kumho Samco Buslines Transport Co., Ltd. adjusted prices on 12 routes with an increase of 12% to 19%, including the routes Mien Dong New Bus Station - North Phan Thiet and Mien Dong Bus Station - South Buon Ma Thuot.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the adjustment of ticket prices by businesses is carried out according to regulations on price declaration. Units must notify the Department of Construction and bus stations before applying, and publicly list ticket prices so that passengers can grasp information and choose.

This agency said it will continue to monitor the declaration and listing of prices of transport businesses to ensure that ticket price adjustments are carried out in accordance with regulations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction also explained that for some short-distance routes or routes with their own exploitation characteristics, fixed costs for each trip often account for a large proportion. Therefore, the rate of ticket price adjustment may be higher than the fluctuation of fuel costs alone.

In case an unusual price increase is detected, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction will coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect the factors forming the price, in order to ensure that the price declaration of enterprises is in accordance with regulations and close to the actual situation.
