7 artists tell private spaces in painting

Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, the group exhibition "Private Space" brings a space of contemplation, where 7 famous painters meet in love with painting.

The exhibition at Gallery 3B (36/6i Nguyen Van Troi, HCMC), lasts until July 15 and is open to the public.

The group includes 7 artists Dinh Mien, Nguyen But, Le Thanh, Thao My, Tu Quyen, Thuy Phuong and Dinh Ho. They come from many different regions, from Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai to Vinh Long. The first meeting took place at an art exhibition in Gia Lai in 2025, thereby forming a connection by the resonance in creative concepts and belief in the healing power of art.

The interesting point of the exhibition is not that the artists pursue a unified style, but in the diversity in expression. Most authors choose post-impression style, while Le Thanh and Thao My have a post-expression orientation. Despite differences in visual language, all aim to convey true emotions and open a dialogue between the work and the audience.

Each artist brings a very different "private space". Dinh Mien seeks inspiration from nature, preserving the vibrations before the light, colors and moments of plants and trees. Le Thanh sees painting as a place where people return to tranquility amidst a bustling life. Nguyen But considers each stroke as a journey of self-discovery, while Thao My dedicates love to the beauty of women and the emotions in love between couples.

Meanwhile, Tu Quyen takes viewers back to childhood memories through folk games, reminding them of the value of ordinary things in the technology age. Thuy Phuong, who has worked in the banking industry for many years, compares the creative journey to climbing mountains - a process of learning to let go to find oneself. Dinh Ho believes that painting is a language that connects people through empathy and human values.

Besides the diversity of topics, the exhibition also shows the richness of materials. Five painters chose lacquer - a traditional material characteristic of Vietnamese fine arts with visual depth and elaborate crafting techniques. Meanwhile, Thao My uses acrylic on canvas, while Le Thanh pursues oil paint, contributing to creating different expressive nuances.

Private Space" is not only an exhibition of fine art works but also a story about seven creative personalities meeting in the belief that art can soothe souls and connect people. Through each painting, viewers not only encounter the artist's perspective but also have the opportunity to look back at their own emotions, memories and moments of silence.
