Duyen" is a new composition by Hung BlackhearteD - Head of Da Ma group. The song is built on a modern rock background combined with jazz and melodies with Vietnamese folk influences. The content of the song tells the story of a predestined relationship when one person has given up the constraints of lust, while the other is still trapped in the worries of life.
To complete the project, Da Ma invited international jazz guitar artist Nguyen Le and singer Dong Lan to participate. Nguyen Le is known for many projects combining Vietnamese traditional music and contemporary jazz, while Dong Lan possesses an emotional voice and a musical style that intersects indie, jazz, hip hop and folk materials.

Notably, "Duyen" also has the companionship of music producer Tim Palmer - who has collaborated with many big names in the world music scene such as U2, David Bowie and Ozzy Osbourne. The mastering was done at Sterling Sound (New York), a unit that has participated in completing many famous international music products.
One of the special highlights of the project is the lyrics of the video. Instead of displaying the lyrics in the usual way, Da Ma chose to perform the entire lyrics in Vietnamese calligraphy art. The project is implemented with the participation of calligraphy artist Nguyen Linh, aiming to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese to international audiences through an art form imbued with national cultural identity.
Hung BlackhearteD said that the group believes that language barriers are increasingly narrowing in the context of globalization. According to him, using Vietnamese not only helps preserve identity but also creates a difference for Da Ma's music in the international market.
Before Duyen, Da Ma once attracted attention with a rock version of the song "Trong com" combined with monochord. The product was selected by Spotify into the international playlist Global Groove, contributing to bringing Vietnamese music closer to global audiences.
