Pham Cong Hoan was born in 1983, son of People's Artist Vu Thi Thanh Minh and Meritorious Artist Pham The Nhuan. Born into a family with artistic traditions, he soon pursued a singing career and is currently working at the Ha Tinh Traditional Art Theater.
Before winning the Bolero music competition, Pham Cong Hoan had many achievements at professional art festivals, including 1 gold medal and 3 individual silver medals at national singing and dancing festivals.
At "Vietnam Bolero Singing" season 2, the male singer was considered one of the outstanding contestants thanks to his sweet, emotional voice and lyrical performance style. In the ranking gala night, he conquered the judges and audience to win the championship in the lyrical Bolero category. In addition, Pham Cong Hoan's performance was also awarded the Most Impressive Performance Singer award.
Sharing after the competition, Pham Cong Hoan said that he believes that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) will not replace the emotions of an artist, especially with bolero music.
I think no matter how developed AI technology is, it cannot replace humans. With bolero music, techniques such as vibrato, emphasis, or nuances all need the singer's emotions and experience. That is something AI can hardly do," the male singer said.
According to Pham Cong Hoan, he has heard many music products created by AI but still feels emotionally lacking compared to the recordings performed by artists.
The male singer also expressed his belief in the vitality of bolero music in Vietnamese music life. According to him, bolero is not inferior to other genres but still has a large audience of many ages.
I noticed that in many art programs or gatherings, bolero still always appears. Not only older people but also many young people love this genre of music. Bolero has become a familiar spiritual dish to many people," he shared.
After the success at the competition, Pham Cong Hoan said he will continue to pursue a professional music path with two new projects. One album will focus on folk music praising the homeland and country; the other album includes bolero songs and lyrical music.
According to the male singer, these are products he has cherished for a long time to mark his artistic career as well as to reciprocate the love of the audience after the competition.
