Dat G officially released the first chapter of his second studio album "Beautiful Nightmare", marking his return after a long period of focusing on composing and producing music.
Not just a collection of 11 songs, "Beautiful Nightmare" is built by Dat G into a complete story consisting of three chapters: "Evil", "Dream" and "Beautiful". Each chapter represents an emotional period, from trauma after breakups, regret, remorse to the process of acceptance and healing.
The first chapter, "Evil", opens with the heaviest emotions with the songs "There are days", "Sitting and listening to you cry" and "Leaving the person I love". Those are stories about loss, unforgettable memories and feelings of helplessness when having to let go of the person I love.
Instead of releasing the entire album at the same time, Dat G chose to introduce each chapter so that the audience has more time to feel the emotional flow that he wants to convey. According to the male singer, each part will have different musical colors, contributing to completing the journey from pain to hope.
Sharing about the project, Dat G said: "This is not only my second album in my career but also a milestone marking a new stage in my life. There are feelings that I was not mature enough to write about before, but now I can tell them in music.
Right from the name "Beautiful Nightmare", the album has shown the contrast between pain and happiness, between memories that once wanted to be forgotten but in the end became motivation to grow up.
Another highlight of the project is the image of the bed - where Dat G calls it the "scene of emotions". According to him, this is the space where people face themselves most truthfully, where they witness tears, sleepless nights and even moments of learning how to heal.
I want the songs to be companions with the audience before going to bed. Each song is like a different position of emotion so that everyone can face themselves," the male singer shared.
With "Beautiful Nightmare", Dat G continues to take on the role of composing, producing and shaping the color of music. The album is expected to mark the maturity of the male artist, not only as a singer but also as a music creator pursuing personal and deep stories.
