Inspired by the classic novel A cloche Coeur by writer Catherine Arley, "The Monotonous Heart" opens with a shocking cybercrime in a peaceful countryside. From there, the journey to find the culprit of the four characters - Triet (Quach Ngoc Ngoan), Xuan (Xuan Van), Son (Viet Hung) and Anh (Nhat Linh) - gradually revealed the hidden corners of love, sin and disability in the human soul.
Quach Ngoc Ngoan shared that the character Triet was the reason he decided to return to cinema: "Triet has everything that others wish for, but there is still a psychological crack in him. I was curious if I were philosopher, how would I react when my heart was no longer whole?". The actor admitted that he was somewhat "affected" when he returned to the set, but received enthusiastic support from director Quoc Cong and his co-stars to complete this complex role.

"The Heart That Can't Be" has an early screening from 6:00 p.m. on November 6 and a national screening from November 7, 2025.
