Director and producer Thu Trang surprised everyone when she fully recreated the space of the Western death anniversary right at the event, from traditional trays, wooden tables and chairs, Mrs. Trang's costumes to the typical gathering atmosphere of the river region.
Instead of choosing a familiar debut form, Thu Trang turned the debut into a lively cultural experience, bringing guests as if they were stepping straight into the world of the film. The entire cast appeared in Ao Ba and scarves, together petaling, buying wine, and chatting animatedly like in a real Western death anniversary. Many guests commented that they no longer felt like attending the premiere but returned to a familiar family party.

Sharing at the event, Thu Trang said that the death anniversary in the West is not only a ceremony to commemorate ancestors but also an occasion to connect relatives, expressing the "love and meaning" of the Vietnamese people. Choosing this image as the opening point for the project is also a spiritual declaration of "Who loves who loves": telling a very real story, very close, but expressed in meticulous and emotional cinematic language.
Thu Trang affirmed that this is the biggest investment project of her and her crew to date. The film is set in the old West, with the entire space 100% newly built, from the painting house, bamboo bridge to the rural market, to fully recreate the life of the South decades ago. The crew spent many months researching customs, daily activities and costumes to ensure authenticity.
The cast also expressed their excitement when coming to the project thanks to the emotional script. Ngoc Thuan attracted attention when she lost 18 kg to get into the role, while Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep said the script was too convincing for her to refuse. Tien Luat humorously shared that he "supported Thu Trang mainly mentally".
With a different release style and serious investment, the film "Who loves who loves" is expected to become one of the most notable Vietnamese films in early 2026. The film has a special screening from December 31, 2025 and officially premiered nationwide from January 1, 2026.
