According to director Thu Trang, the ambition of the film "Who loves who loves" does not stop at recreating river scenery, but also the life, people and depth of Southern culture. From costumes, cuisine to traditional artistic values, all are carefully calculated by the crew to bring a realistic and emotional cinematic space.
The Ao Dai costume - a symbol associated with the life of the West - was invested right from the preparation stage. Each character is built with its own costumes based on personality and fate.
The character Hai Men played by Thu Trang went through many stages of life, so her outfit also changed to clearly reflect her inner journey. In addition, the director also subtly uses the main color tone of each character as an image language layer, creating contrast and depth for the story.

In addition to the visual part, the film also integrates many typical traditional cultural values of the South such as the Song of the Rich and the rice paper craft village - a livelihood associated with the life of Hai Men women. Thu Trang said she had met artisans directly to learn the cake making process, to ensure the authenticity of each frame. The art of male and female singing - the intangible cultural heritage of the South - also appeared in the film through the performance of Meritorious Artist Huu Quoc and artisans.
One of the outstanding scenes of the film "Who loves who loves" is the endless fields, where the crew decided to completely rebuild the riverside house of the character Hai Men. According to designer Bui Bao Quoc, the crew took about 12 days to complete the set, mobilizing nearly 400 boats and more than 50 farm vehicles to transport materials in difficult conditions.
Not stopping there, director Thu Trang also "played big" when recreating the bustling Tan Chau neighborhood (An Giang) right at the right location, mobilizing a large number of mass actors and receiving enthusiastic support from local people. That serious and dedicated investment has contributed to reviving an ancient Western region full of memories and emotions in the film "Who loves who loves".
The film "The Love of those You Love" has a special screening on December 31, 2025 and will officially premiere nationwide from January 1, 2026.
